Bungie as Reveled Destiny 2’s Next Big DLC: Shadowkeep

Bungie has recently revealed Shadowkeep, the next chapter for Destiny 2, which will reunite players with Destiny 1's Eris Morn and return players to the hive infested Moon of Earth.

In an article from the Destiny Dev Team, it said, "New Nightmares have emerged from the shadows of our forgotten Moon. Called forth by haunting visions from her tormented past, Eris Morn has returned and unleashed something that once slumbered beneath the lunar surface – a long-dormant power even she cannot control."

What it appears from the Shadowkeep trailer is that players have to fight back former Destiny bosses such as Atheon, Time's Conflux (Vault of Glass Raid); Crota, Son of Oryx (Crota's End Raid); Oryx, the Taken King (King's Fall Raid); Skolas, Kell of Kells (House of Wolves); Dominus Ghaul (Destiny 2); and more.

The Destiny Dev Team said, "Return to the Moon. Journey deep into a mysterious enemy citadel. Help Eris slay these nightmares before they reach out beyond the Moon to cast humanity back into an age of darkness."

Form the looks of it this next content drop it's going to be something similar in size to The Taken King and Forsaken. If history can tell us anything, it's that we should expect Shadowkeep to be a significant content drop filled with new loot, sandbox changes, gunplay, locations, lore, enemies, and more.

New Light

Also, Bungie is rolling out what they call "New Light" for new players that haven't played any of Destiny 2 or its past DLC. 

The Destiny Dev Team said, "our goals for this year is to make it simpler for new players to join this amazing community and quickly play alongside our veteran Guardians. Destiny 2: New Light is a brand-new entry point for newcomers, that puts the worlds of Destiny 2 – and all of its foundational modes, activities, and rewards – into the hands of every player."

It’s free to download for all players and provides them with Destiny 2's Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and, not all, but a significant chunk of Forsaken. As a long time Destiny player, this sort of bugs me that it's for free considering the money I have spent buying the games and DLC, however, it is no doubt a great feature.

Cross-Save

Cross-Save is also coming to Destiny 2 between the PS4, Xbox One, Steam on PC, and even the new Google Stadia.

The Destiny Dev Team said, "With Cross-Save, you’ll be able to access the same characters tied to one primary account, enabling you to have a unified experience with the same Guardians on different platforms."

With all these significant changes coming, it seems that Bungie could finally be on the right track with Destiny since they've gotten their independence after separating from Activision.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, New Light, and Cross-Save will release on September 17, 2019.
