WipEout Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4 as August's Free PS Plus Games

Sony has officially released the new PlayStation Plus line up for August 2019 which includes the WipEout Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4.

Wipeout Omega Collection 

The WipEout Omega Collection, released in 2017, includes WipEout HD, WipEout HD Fury and WipEout 2048, which are all enhanced for PS4 and PS4 Pro bringing in PS VR functionality for some of the content. *Proceeding to grab a barf bag.*

The WipEout franchise is a fast-paced anti-gravity futuristic racer that is by no means easy to master. It features online multiplayer, time trials, championships, multiple ships to collect, and more. The race tracks plus the music will keep you locked in the game with your heart pumping and your hands sweating as you continue to avoid crashing into walls or flying off the tracks.

The WipEout franchise has been out since 1995 and has had ten released games, whether that be remastered or a new iteration in the franchise. Believe it or not, the WipEout Omega Collection is the first time a WipEout game has been on the PS4, and yet, there is still no officially released new WipEout game yet to be on the PS4.

The last game they made before this collection was WipEout 2048 for the PlayStation Vita in 2012.

The Wipeout Omega Collection currently has an 85/100 on Metacritic.

Sniper Elite 4

Sniper Elite 4, released in 2017, is also in the line up for August's PlayStation Plus games.

As said by the PlayStation Store's description, "Discover unrivaled sniping freedom in the largest and most advanced World War 2 shooter ever built. Experience tactical third-person combat, gameplay choice and epic longshots across gigantic levels as you liberate wartime Italy from the grip of Fascism."

Sniper Elite 4 includes an expansive campaign for 1 or 2 players, co-op for 2 to 4 players, and multiplayer for up to 12 players at a time.

This is the 7th iteration in Rebellion Developments Sniper franchise, lasting since 2005, including past games such as: Sniper Elite, Sniper Elite V2, Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army, Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2, Sniper Elite III, Zombie Army Trilogy, and coming soon Zombie Army 4: Dead War and Sniper Elite VR.

Sniper Elite 4 currently has a 77/100 on Metacritic.

The comments on PlayStation.Blog seem mixed on these upcoming games with boychik0830 saying, "Not sure what to think of these games. Not the biggest racing fan and I have already played sniper Elite 4 before. When will there be a month where I haven’t played or owned either game before."

While Mercenary09 said, "Really good lineup this month. WipEout is one of the best VR games too so if you have it make sure to try it out."

The WipEout Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4 will be released for PlayStation Plus users on August 5.
